FAQs
frequently asked questions
How do I register/sign up?
--Register online by visiting our homepage, and look for the 'Announcement' boxes along the left-hand side. There you will find the links to the registration for the program of your choice. (The direct url for the registration page is: https://foothillbasketball.d4sportsreg.com/)
Is there a deadline to register?
--For our LEAGUES, the sooner you can register, the better - as spaces do fill. We usually close the ONLINE registration system a day or two before the assessment day for that season. After that point, registration CAN be done in person at 1) the Skills Assessment 2) the Make-up Skills Assessment and 3) the Parents’ Meeting. However, spots are often filled by the end of the first Skills Assessment (especially for our boys’ divisions) so please check the website for updates before coming to one of those events to sign up.
--For our camps, we close the ONLINE registration system on the Sunday evening before camp starts. Registration can be done IN PERSON at the first day of camp from 8:00 – 9:00 am. But please do pre-register so you don’t have to wait in a long line and be late to work!
What are the prices?
--The general price of any given program (league or camp) is $179
-- There are also sibling discounts, and multi-program discounts as well.
-- For example, the price for the first sibling registering for the league is $179, while the 2nd sibling is only $159 (for a total of $338).
-- The price for a player in both the summer league and the summer camp will be $179 for the league, and $130 for the camp (for a total of $309).
-- (All of the prices are made clear during the registration process, so you can see the prices before deciding)

What are the Foothill Hoops payment/refund policies?

I called the phone number, but no one picked up, what can I do?
--Believe it or not, we all have jobs outside of Foothill Hoops Basketball, so manning a phone during business hours is tricky! That being said, email is the best way to contact us. You can submit your question on our Contact Us page. Voice mail will get returned, but email is usually responded to within 24 hours (Please first look around our website first, as most of the information can be found there).
What does the league consist of? / What do we get?
--Each LEAGUE will run approximately 8 weeks. Each team has one practice night per week for one hour (high school teams practice for two hours). Each team has one game on Saturdays for one hour. Each team in the league plays at least 7 games, but often times our older teams (girls 9-11, boys 10-11, Jr. High Boys, and Jr. High Girls) play more games including playoffs.
-- The registration cost covers the entire season, and includes the complete uniform, end-of-season award, officials for all games, and indoor gym practices and games. “Picture Day” pictures, and Los Angeles Sparks tickets are optional and are not included in the registration fee.
When is the league? and what are the dates?
--All of the dates can be found on our events page.
The general dates for the SUMMER ‘10 are: Practices begin the week of June 28
1st weekend of games=July10
Last weekend of games=August 21
I cannot make it to the June 5th player assessment day, what do I do?
--There will be a make-up player assessment day on Saturday, June 12th (times, TBA)
(Also remember that all of our events can be found on our events page).
*Also, please remember that your player must come to the specific time for their specific age group, and will need to stay the entire length of that group's time (usually about 1 hour).
When and where are the practices and games?
--Practices are generally on a weekday (M-F) after 5:00 PM and ending by 9:00 pm (older players practice at the later times, don't worry, we won't have your 1st grader practicing until 9:00 pm), and are mainly held at Rosemont Middle School. Your team will be assigned a day/time that will remain consistent over the whole season. If a weeknight practice needs to be rescheduled, we often do that on Sunday afternoons at the FIS Gym.
--Games are generally Saturdays, between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm (older kids play at the later times). Some playoff games may be scheduled on Sunday afternoons. Specific game times change from week to week, so that all the teams can play each other.
--Games are held at both Rosemont and at the FIS gyms (generally, older divisions play at Rosemont).
How long are the practices/games?
--Each team will have one practice night per week for one hour
--Each team will have one game on Saturdays for one hour
Can my kids play on the same team?
--Sometimes - depending on the ages and skill levels. We try to balance all of our teams balanced skill-wise. If you have two kids with similar skills, we may not be able to place them on the same team. If they cannot be placed on the same team, we are many times able to place them on different teams that practice on the same night, time, and gym.
We do NOT allow players to “jump” divisions just to play with a friend. For example, Jonny is 7 (and would play with boys 6-7) but wants to play with Jimmy who is 8 (and plays with boys 8-9). Jonny and Jimmy will have to wait until next season, when they are both within the same age parameters.
You are always welcome to put in any requests that you have. We take requests at the Skills Assessments. After that, it is very difficult for us to honor team-change requests.
I have two kids, but they are different ages, can they practice on the same night and time?
--Its possible, but probably not. Many times we are able to place different aged siblings on different teams that practice on the same night, but we tend to clump like-aged divisions together for various reasons (basket heights, ball sizes, etc), so often their times will be different. Also, we have 8-10 different divisions depending on the season, and they do not all always practice on the same night.
I have played before, but forgot my email address / password
--Try your email address, or your spouse's. If you still cannot log in, send us an email with your full name and we can reset your password
I am having problems with the website, what do I do?
--You can submit your question on Contact Us page, and someone will reply by email within 24 hours
What does that last paragraph say on the bottom of the registration form?
--I understand that the Foothill Hoops Staff will place my son or daughter on a team/in a division in the best interest of my player, in the best interests of all other players in the division, with the intention/goal (but not guarantee) of equal skill distribution among the teams, and with the general integrity of the league in mind. I understand that Foothill Hoops has the final say in the team assignment of my player, and I will keep a positive attitude if things do not turn out exactly as I want them to. If I do not keep a positive attitude, Foothill Hoops has the right to remove my player from the league.
Can my son/daughter/husband/wife, or myself, volunteer?
--Yes! We are always looking for volunteers. Send us an email if you are interested, or simply let us know at the Player Assessments. All volunteers must attend a Coaches’ Meeting each season. The Coaches’ Meeting is held sometime between the Parents’ Meeting and first practices of each season. Volunteer coaches do NOT do the assessing nor do they make the teams.
