The Jr. High Conference is for players ages 12-14, with separate divisions for boys and girls.

The High School Conference is for players ages 15-17.  

In 2010 we will offer our Summer League (June - August), 
and our week long camp.

 
 

Higher competition, same principles: While score is kept and there are standings and playoffs, we will still do our best to emphasize fun, skill development, confidence building, and character development. While, at this age, high levels of competition are becoming increasingly important to the developing player, we will always strive to keep the importance of winning in the proper perspective.

 

Preparation for entry into local high school basketball programs: During the season, we will communicate with high school basketball coaches in the community and find out what they look for in a try-out, and what skills they feel are necessary for playing at the next level. Over the course of the season, we will relay this information to all of our coaches. Whether players are interested in preparing for high school basketball, or if they just want to have fun playing basketball with friends, Foothill Hoops is the league for them!

  
 
Practices and Games: Practices will be once a week, for an hour and a half, in the evenings. Each team will be assigned a certain practice time at the Parents Meeting. At practices, coaches will be responsible for developing a lesson plan appropriate for his or her players and upcoming game. Foothill Hoops staff will monitor practices and work closely with coaches to guarantee that appropriate skills and strategies are being taught, and that all players are learning and developing.

  
  

On Saturdays, games are 40 minutes long, with quarter breaks and a half-time. Players are guaranteed to play at least half of every game and there will never be more than 10 players per team. All games will be officiated by referees with previous high school officiating experience. Finally, an exciting, CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT will round out the season! 

 

Who Coaches? Foothill Hoops is greatful to volunteers who coach our Jr. High teams. If you decide to coach, a training, drills and helpful literature, and staff assistance will be provided. Foothill Hoops staff will coach all High School teams. 

 

Also, parents and players can view game summaries, stats, and scores on-line after every game!
